Akita 

Origin & History:

The Akita is a powerful breed from Japan, originally developed for hunting large game such as boar and bear. Revered as a symbol of loyalty, the Akita is deeply tied to Japanese culture and history.

Size & Weight:

Males stand 26–28 inches and weigh 100–130 pounds, while females stand 24–26 inches and weigh 70–100 pounds.

Appearance & Breed Characteristics:

Akitas are large, muscular dogs with broad heads, erect ears, curled tails, and thick double coats. Coat colors include white, brindle, red, and pinto.

Temperament & Personality:

Loyal, dignified, and courageous, Akitas are devoted to their families but can be aloof or protective with strangers. They are natural guardians with strong protective instincts.

Exercise & Training Needs:

Daily exercise is important, including long walks and active play. Training should be firm, consistent, and positive—early socialization is crucial.
