Origin & History:

The American Cocker Spaniel was developed from the English Cocker Spaniel in the late 1800s, bred primarily for hunting woodcock birds. Today, it is one of the most popular companion dogs in the U.S.

American Cockers Spaniel stand 13.5–15.5 inches tall and weigh 20–30 pounds.

Appearance & Breed Characteristics:

Known for their big, expressive eyes and long, feathered ears, American Cocker Spaniel have a silky, medium-length coat in many colors, including black, buff, parti-color, and tricolor.

Temperament & Personality:

Gentle, affectionate, and merry, American Cocker Spaniel are excellent family dogs. They thrive on companionship and are eager to please but may be sensitive.
