Origin & History:

Developed in medieval France and Belgium for tracking game and missing persons, the Bloodhound is renowned for its extraordinary scenting ability and endurance, making it one of the most effective trackers in the canine world.

Size & Weight:

Males stand 23–27 inches tall and weigh 80–110 pounds; females are slightly smaller.

Appearance & Breed Characteristics:

Large, muscular dogs with long, droopy ears, wrinkled skin, and expressive eyes. Coat colors include black and tan, liver and tan, or red.

Temperament & Personality:

Gentle, affectionate, and determined, Bloodhounds are loyal to family and focused on scent-based activities. They are calm indoors but active when tracking.

Exercise & Training Needs:

Daily exercise and scent-work activities are essential. Training requires patience and consistency due to their independent nature.

Grooming, Shedding & Coat Care:
