Origin & History:

The Chinese Crested has ancient roots, with origins in Africa and later China. Initially kept aboard ships to control vermin, they became admired for their unique appearance.

Size & Weight:

Small breed, standing 11–13 inches tall and weighing 10–13 pounds.

Appearance & Breed Characteristics:

Known for hairless and powderpuff varieties. Hairless types have smooth skin with hair on the head, tail, and feet. Powderpuffs have a soft, full coat. Colors vary widely.

Temperament & Personality:

Affectionate, playful, and alert. A Chinese Crested enjoys human companionship, is intelligent, and can be lively.

Exercise & Training Needs:

Moderate exercise, including daily walks and play. Training should be gentle and reward-based.

Grooming, Shedding & Coat Care:

Hairless types require skin care and occasional bathing; powderpuffs need regular brushing. Minimal shedding for hairless, moderate for powderpuffs.
