Origin & History:

Dalmatians originated in Dalmatia (modern Croatia) and were used as carriage dogs, firehouse mascots, and hunting companions.

Size & Weight:

Medium to large, standing 19–24 inches tall and weighing 45–70 pounds.

Appearance & Breed Characteristics:

Distinctive white coat with black or liver spots, strong athletic build, long tail, and expressive eyes.

Temperament & Personality:

Energetic, intelligent, and playful. A Dalmatian is loyal, affectionate, and good with an active family.

Exercise & Training Needs:

High exercise needs; daily walks, runs, and play are essential. Training should be consistent, firm, and positive.

Grooming, Shedding & Coat Care:

Short coat is low-maintenance but sheds year-round. Regular brushing recommended.
